How did I get to Veritas?
Parts about teaching:

I believe that math is much more than numbers, graphs, equations, etc. To me, math is recognizing and applying patterns using a logical reasoning, problem-solving process. It's like a puzzle with hints and clues! In this sense, math can be carried over into any profession.
I believe that, no matter what your past experience is with math, you can be successful at it with a positive attitude, persistent effort, and with a desire to understand. This goes far beyond simply "doing what the teacher does".
Standards Based Grading
I view homework as practice and students should always put their best effort into homework, because it's your first chance to see if you understand something. Whether homework is graded or not, students should realize that you're doing it for yourself, not for me.
Because we all learn differently, we retest standards multiple times so students can show improvement, which leads to mastery.
